One business model that is proving successful for big media companies in trying to turn around the negative effects of the digital age is the ?freemium.? Free products have a pull effect; this is the lifeblood of new media. The freemium business model takes advantage of this by merging free with premium. Giving a certain percentage away to build loyalty and selling the rest.
