Big Data is Big Money. Who you are, what you like and where you go all have a huge impact on those companies that look to you to be their consumers. Apart from companies that tout consumerism your personal data is valuable to others too, for example: governments. Why? So, they know who you’re likely to vote for, what’s bothering you about the state and what to watch out for should you fall into the ‘rogue’ category.
As much as we may not like to admit it – who we are is played out across search engines, Facebook posts and Tweets on a daily basis – if we’re lucky we know how to minimize our risk if not… Suffice to say – someone’s watching.
