New media technologies are presenting established businesses with the challenge of having to reconsider their tried and tested business models. They can no longer do business the way they always have because, among other challenges, their traditional revenue streams have come under fire because of new media. For example, established print newspapers that want to have an online presence need go be innovative and strategic in finding a balance between providing content to readers and making money in order to remain sustainable.
